no. 13

13.

Once I was strong and firm
My precipice stood tall and magnificent over you
But with each day I shrink against your imminent strength
I have lost so much of myself that admiring eyes are merely a faint memory
Soon my bones will be scattered about this planet
Sunken ships will settle in me
Children will build castles from me
And you will watch, forgetting the beauty of my wholeness
